As a Nigerian-born, Vancouver-based film director, director and cinematographer Mo Jose found his worlds colliding. The football heritage of being Nigerian and the excitement of living in one of the FIFA World Cup 2026 host cities, this was a moment that had to be commemorated on camera.

WHAT WE DID

Mo drew on personal elements - a love of running, the beautiful game, and an intimate knowledge of Vancouver - to patiently scout the city's most compelling landmarks. Talent was carefully sourced to bring three distinct characters to life. A light crew was assembled to execute a single shoot day that demanded precise logistics across multiple iconic Vancouver locations.

RESULT

Bootstrapped, a cinematic love letter to Vancouver, released 51 days ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 as the city prepares to welcome 350,000 visitors from around the world.
